     As a teacher, I want to create an environment where children can grow to their full potential. Every child learns in their own unique way, and as an educator, it is my responsibility to create an environment that stimulates them socially, emotionally, cognitively, and physically.

     I believe children have an intrinsic desire to learn and master skills. I guide children’s learning by providing them with a variety of engaging materials and hands-on activities to explore and practice at their own pace in a safe and loving environment. As children master skills, the materials and activities become more challenging, thus building on their knowledge.

​

     Family child care provides children with a unique opportunity to explore and learn in a familiar and comfortable home-like environment. In a mixed-age setting, older children are given the opportunity to be mentors and role models to their younger classmates. They are learning empathy and patience for those younger than them while taking on leadership roles as they teach each other skills they have mastered.

     Through the relationships I build with parents, we work together to achieve common goals of sleeping through the night, transitioning from milk to solids, potty training, dressing skills, and many more.

     When children can choose materials and explore freely, they become active participants in their own learning. We are setting the stage for their future academic achievement and career success.
